arcadia, live long and prosper

FEC Arcadia... man, it's been such a long time. First of all i've been around FEC churches since birth and went to Arcadia when it was planted when i was in the 8th grade. i've essentially spent the last decade here. my time here has been real interesting. i started off in the junior high fellowship, moved up to the high school fellowship, entered into the college group, was a part of the adult service, and then became a youth worker.

having been here so long i've also been fortunate enough to see so many kids mature. the last two years in particular have been a true blessing. don't get me wrong, some times it was a very difficult place to be, but i am very thankful for the experiences i have had there. i went from seriously considering leaving the church and not having it be one of my top priorities, to really committing myself to the youth ministry. you guys should know that you were the reason why i stayed at Arcadia.

i read Philippians this week and i couldn't help but think of ya'll. Philippians 1:3-6 reads: "Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. I always pray for you, and I make my requests with a heart full of joy because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again."

If you guys get the chance, read Philippians. This might sound weird, but try reading it as if I wrote it to you. Or if that's too weird, pretend that someone you knew wrote it to you. I ask you to do this, because I think sometimes we can detach ourselves from the word because we don't think that it was written to us.

check out this sweet graduation/going away card

what the spock? i hate that guy

i'm gonna miss you guys. thanks for everything these last couple of years!

okay, ya'll really need to stop hating on my bag. i got it for free, what're you gonna do about it?

worship team! (well, part of it at least)

yo honestly, it was such a privilege to play with you guys my last week. to see how all of us have grown, musically and spiritually, over the last however many years brings me great joy. i wouldn't have had it any other way. even though things weren't completely smooth, there were a couple people that came up to me and had some very nice things to say about that time.

also, being in that room that saturday night was such a special experience. i wish that you guys will be able to have many more of those.

a year really isn't that long.. i'll see ya'll soon! uhh, may you live long and prosper
